Qualifying for the high dividend is so easy, you're probably already doing it! Enrollments must be in place and all of the following transactions and activities must post and settle to your Greater Checking account prior to the close of business on the last business day of the month:

  • At least 20 debit card purchases totaling $100
  • Enrollment in estatements
  • At least 1 direct deposit of $100 or more or 1 payment made via Greater Iowa bill pay from your Greater Checking account

That's it. Even if you don't meet your qualifications during the month, your Greater Checking account is still free. Plus, you'll still earn our base interest rate. And you can get right back to earning the higher dividend rate the very next month.

APY = Annual Percentage Yield is accurate as of July 20, 2026 and is subject to change after account opening. Limit one account per tax ID number. Account holder or joint must be at least 18 years of age. High dividend rate Annual Percentage Yield (APY) will be earned on balances up to $20,000.  To receive dividends, the following qualification criteria must be met: 1) Have a share (membership) account with a minimum balance of $5.00. 2) Have at least twenty (20) debit card purchases totaling $100 (PIN based or signature based) from their Greater Iowa Credit Union debit card, and the purchases must post and settle prior to the close of business on the last business day of the month. 3) The membership associated with the Greater Checking account must elect to receive electronic statements (eStatements) in lieu of paper statements by registering for eStatements* with a valid email address; please see the Electronic Statement Disclosure in the Membership Agreement for further information on this product. 4) Have a direct deposit of at least $100 per month in the Greater Checking account or at least one payment made via Greater Iowa Credit Union bill pay from the Greater Checking account (internal transfers are excluded and do not qualify) prior to the close of business on the last business day of the month.  Annual Percentage Yield (APY) paid on balances up to $20,000 with 0.10% APY paid on all amounts above $20,000 each cycle requirements are met. If requirements not met, 0.01% APY earned on total balance.
2) Up to 71x the national average of 0.07% APY is based on the national average of checking account rates published in FDIC Weekly National Rates and Rate Caps accurate as of April 20, 2026.
3) Refund usage fees up to $10/month for using out-of-network or non-Privileged Status [™?] ATMs. Refunds are only paid if member qualifies that month.
